![]() Digital TeacherAs a digital teacher, I am currently planning a workshop series that will empower teachers to use the ASFM circle of tools. The goal is to run hands-on sessions where teachers are able to immediately integrate tech tools like Pear Deck and DocAppender in their classes. | ![]() Student Formative Reflection PLCI have been working with a group of teachers & instructional coach to develop strategies for diagnostic and formative assessments as a means of checking for understanding and encouraging self-directed learning. The goal is to give students the tools to be more reflective about their skills/learning and enable teachers to be more aware of student strengths & areas of growth. | ![]() Compensation Task ForceI am delighted to be part of the ASFM Compensation Task force so that I am able to apply my previous experience as an administrator and my recent experience as a Track 1 teacher at ASFM to my subcommittee focused on supervision. I am really invested in the vision and purpose of this task force to better equip teachers with the tools for reflective practices and increased impact within the school community. |

![]() Course OutlinesAfter recognizing the need for an organized look at semester (and unit) goals as well as weekly agendas, I created course outlines for my English 10 and AP Human Geography classes. The first week back at school, I shared the outline with my English colleagues and received a lot of positive feedback because the learning objectives, activities & assessments are all outlined, along with weekly schedules for planning. | ![]() HS Rubric DevelopmentNow that the MS rubrics were successfully complete, the HS English team is working together to develop aligned rubrics for English from G9-12; this is to create consistency for students (in regards to criteria, expectations and grading) from MS through to HS, continuing the work that I did as part of the MS English team last year. | ![]() MS Rubric AlignmentAs part of the MS English team in 2015-2016, I created and implemented rubrics that aligned for argumentative and informative/explanatory writing for grades 6 to 8. By using common Core Standards and specific, student-friendly language, I feel like we were very successful in creating rubrics that would allow students to seamlessly transition and build on previous writing skills from one grade to the next. |
![]() Curriculum MappingIn the English Department at the ASFM, it was a goal of ours during the 2015-2016 school year to map how the Common Core Standards were being addressed within each unit of our courses. Each course was organized into one tab, which included units, essential questions, related standards, activities and assessments, and since we were using Google Sheets, we could browse any course from Grade 6 to 12. | ![]() Recruitment VideoI was selected as one of the four teachers at ASFM (K-12) to be featured in the recruitment video discussing ASFM's new mission and vision. I spoke about how my teaching philosophy and pedagogy aligns with fostering open minds, caring hearts and global leadership. | ![]() Conference PresentationThis past school year, I presented at the Live Curious, Go Beyond Technology Conference. While teaching the GIN course, I did a lot of research about Design Thinking and found ways to use it so that students were highly engaged in their choosing and creating their culminating project. Throughout the process, I realized there were a lot of ways teachers could apply Design Thinking in their class, so I wanted to brainstorm & share. |
![]() Vice Principal RoleIn my last year at BCC, I was the Vice Principal and we opened a new campus for MSHS. When I was offered the position, I accepted it so that I would be able to have a positive impact I would be able to have within the BCC community. | ![]() MS Basketball CoachIn my second year at BCC, I coached our Girls' MS basketball team. Despite having a small team, the girls gave the season a lot of heart and hard work. | ![]() Jeju Track & Field MeetSchools on Jeju Island were having a track & field meet, and since our students had little access to a track (as a result of being located in the middle of Seoul), we thought it would be a great opportunity and exposure for our students. Along with a handful of other teachers from BCC, I chaperoned for the long-weekend excursion, and planned team-building activities for our athletes and adventurers alike. |
![]() Social CoordinatorAshe Social Coordinator at BCC, I planned events so that international and local staff would have an opportunity to bond and explore Korea's culture outside of the workplace. The snapshot here is from a night at the theatre. |
